Leading management scholar Professor Mats Alvesson spoke at an academic seminar hosted by the Cass Centre for Professional Service Firms on 25 October 2011. At the seminar, Mats talked about leadership, specifically the alignment and Mats Alvesson holds a chair in the Business Administration department at Lund University in Sweden and is also part-time professor at University of Queensland Business School and at City University, London. Leaders and leadership can then be seen as organizational symbols, the orientations toward them are then not treated as facts about leadership, as such, but more as clues to understand organizational cultures (Alvesson, 2002).
